Smoke On The Water
Bienvenue and welcome to the Official home of the premier edition of Smoke on the Water. This event is being held in conjunction with the second annual French Smokers Weekend. Last october we had a great weekend cooking together and it gaves us all a chance to meet, in person, friends we only knew on a rapidly rising Facebook page “The French Smoker” We had a BLAST! and vowed to do it again this year only bigger and better.
So now we are planning for a host of different options. Of course there will be Master Series Contest to be officially announced upon receipt of the official santioning form. There will also be a Backyard Competition for those looking to compete in a KCBS contest. Backyard is only two categories and will give those who enter a taste of what competition style bbq is all about. They will be required to only cook two categories. Chicken and Ribs which can easily be done with limited equipment such as a kettle or drum type smoker. They will be required to adhere to the same turn-in times and boxes as a full blown master series contest.
Saturday, October, 14th there will also be a Steak Challenge for those wishing to participate. Each team will choose two steaks, after randomly selecting a number from a hat to determine the order in which they select their steaks.
As for the venue, it is a premium seaside camping facility. Teams can camp on site with hook-ups with all the utilities. There are 20 Showers and 10 toilets available. There are also cabins onsite with a kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and a front porch to enjoy your morning coffee.
