What Is A KCBS BBQ Competition ? Your Questions Answered

  Who/What is KCBS? THE KANSAS CITY BARBEQUE SOCIETY (KCBS),  is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and enjoying barbeque, is the world's largest organization of barbeque and grilling enthusiasts with over 19,000 members worldwide. KCBS sanctions over 450 barbeque contests world wide. From volunteering to actual event production, their members also offer assistance to civic and charitable organizations who organize events. What do I have to cook? There are 4 mandatory meat categories. Vive la France. New KCBS Style Contest Announcement. Cook-in Camargue

  I am thrilled to announce the first KCBS Style BBQ competition ever to be held in France. As many of you are aware, I attended the fabulous Camargue BBQ Festival in June this year. I was most graciously invited to come and show-off my American style of low and slow barbecue techniques.   The Camargue BBQ Festival is held annualy in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, the Capital of the Camargue. This festive village is about as Texas styled as you will find in France. Les 12 et 13 septembre,l'association française du barbecue(AFB)organise dans la bonne humeur un stage de 2 jours sur l'art culinaire américain de la cuisson longue à la fumée à basse température "low and slow" sur feu de bois dur. Nous préparerons également des accompagnements typiques tels que le Mac-n-cheese fumé,des haricots au four et salade de pomme de terre.
